Our Story
IndexGPT started in 2024 with a simple observation: shoppers had begun asking ChatGPT what to buy, and most Shopify stores were invisible in those answers. Search was changing faster than the tools merchants had to keep up with it.
So we built the tool we wished existed. IndexGPT earned its Built for Shopify certification in 2025, passed a thousand installs the same year, and now holds a 4.9 out of 5 rating across 144 reviews on the Shopify App Store.
Today IndexGPT goes well beyond indexing. Merchants use it to score their AI visibility, publish llms.txt and schema markup, track how their brand shows up in AI answers, and generate the content that earns those mentions. IndexGPT is operated by Legendary Index, Lda.
